Attack of the Killer B-Movie

Attack of the Killer B-Movie

Every night WIT will create a unique movie before your very eyes on stage at BATS, celebrating the monsters, disasters, villains and heroes of a classic B-Movie.

‘Attack of the Killer B-Movie’ is an homage to the classic cult genre movies of the 1950s, such as “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman” and “The Blob”. Based on an original movie title created by the audience, a cast of familiar faces (veterans of WIT shows such as ‘Return to the Planet of Forbidden Improv’, ‘Gorilla’ and ‘Micetro’) and new additions to the ensemble will craft a thrilling new tale each evening, worthy of a drive-in double-feature spot of its own.

Producer Hayley Webster promises that the show “will be honoring all the elements that are intrinsic to a good bad B-Movie”, from chisel-jawed heroes to badly glued monsters. Director Lyndon Hood says “The B-Movies were the ones with second billing in the double features. So they could just shamelessly people a good time without trying to be all highbrow about it. This is kind of a dream for me.”

“WIT players share a love of storytelling and work together as a team to inspire the audience.”
“Creative ingenuity, responsiveness and, yes, wit” — Theatreview
