The Book of Everything: Stellar Cast for Return Season

MEDIA RELEASE – for immediate release

SILO CONFIRMS STELLAR CAST FOR AUCKLAND RETURN SEASON

Silo Theatre, together with Q Theatre and Tour-Makers present
THE BOOK OF EVERYTHING
Return Auckland season
Adapted by Richard Tulloch from the novel by Guus Kuijer
Directed by Silo Artistic Director Sophie Roberts

The critically acclaimed, sell-out production of THE BOOK OF EVERYTHING is back and returns to Q Theatre for a limited season from February 12. Meet the outstanding additions to the cast who have come on board to play the weird and wonderful characters in 2016:

AMANDA BILLING joins the cast as Thomas' loving mother. Amanda's stage appearances include Auckland Theatre Company productions of LYSISTRATA and CHICAGO. She is best known for her hugely popular role as Sarah Potts on SHORTLAND STREET.

STEPHEN LOVATT will play Thomas' strict and conflicted father. Stephen's recent credits include his star turn as Roy Cohn in our 2014 epic ANGELS IN AMERICA, Auckland Theatre Company's RUPERT and the upcoming NZ feature film adaptation of Eleanor Catton's THE REHEARSAL.

Playing the delightfully kooky Jesus will be DAN MUSGROVE. Dan was last seen on stage in Silo's ANGELS IN AMERICA and currently stars as Lefty Munroe in TV3's hit OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE prequel, WESTSIDE.

Rounding out the new cast is newcomer AMANDA TITO as Thomas' headstrong older sister, Margot. Amanda makes her Silo debut after appearing in TV2's STEP DAVE and a string of independent productions at Auckland's Basement Theatre.

These new additions will appear alongside original cast members: JENNIFER WARD-LEALAND, RIMA TE WIATA, MICHELLE BLUNDELL and PATRICK CARROLL in the hero role of Thomas.

Magical and beautifully moving, The Book of Everything is an enchanting stage adaptation of the children’s story by Guus Kuijer. Under the stunning direction of Silo Artistic Director Sophie Roberts - The Book of Everything received two Auckland Theatre Awards in 2015 for ‘Excellence in all aspects of the production’ and ‘Best Ensemble’. The stellar cast will take the stage in February to create a vital conversation around family violence, courage and friendship.

See this truly excellent show before it takes to the road in March for a tour of the North Island.

"It's a show that intends to be everything for everyone and, astonishingly, it succeeds."
