Nic Kelly to coach Mainland in National Netball League

Netball Nic Kelly has been appointed Head Coach of Netball Mainland for the inaugural National Netball League (NNL).
Announced today by Netball Mainland Chief Executive Officer Brigit Hearn, Kelly will be joined by assistant coach Lucy
Newton and manager Mandy Anderson.
The NNL is a development competition that underpins the ANZ Championship in New Zealand. It will run for 12 weeks from
Sunday 10 April, culminating on Sunday 26 June with the Grand Final in Auckland.
The competition will feature five teams (one from each Zone) playing a double round robin, including 14 post-match games
televised on SKY Sport following ANZ Championship matches on Saturday or Sunday, and seven standalone games.
“We are really excited about the new National Netball League and the valuable experience it will provide our players and
support staff in a longitudinal competition format,” Hearn said.
“Nic, Lucy and Mandy bring a wealth of experience to their roles and on behalf of Netball Mainland I congratulate them
on their appointments.”
Nic Kelly is part of the Netball New Zealand (NNZ) High Performance Coach Programme, and previously held roles as Tasman
Netball and Netball Mainland Under 23 Coach.
Assistant coach Lucy Newton is part of the NNZ Performance Coach Pathway. Previously Christchurch Girls High School
senior coach and Christchurch Netball Centre under age team selector and coach.
Manager Mandy Anderson has been involved in sports administration and management for over 20 years, currently working as
the Assistant Director of Sport for Rangi Ruru Girls School in Christchurch. She has most recently managed the
Christchurch Netball Centre National Championship team and the Netball Mainland Under 23 team.
The Netball Mainland NNL team will be announced in February, with the draw to be confirmed by Netball New Zealand in due
course.
