THE REVENANT ousts STAR WARS from No 1
Wilderness survival epic THE REVENANT has toppled STAR WARS from the No 1 position in the NZ box office.
Following the 12 Academy Award nominations announced on Friday, coupled with strong word-of-mouth and excellent reviews,
attendances lifted in cinemas nationwide.
THE REVENANT stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy and is directed by last year’s Best Director/Best Film winner,
Birdman's Alejandro G. Inarritu.
THE REVENANT’s Oscar nominations include Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.
