NZ Skin Cancer Doctor And Writer Guest at
World’s Largest Literature Fesitival in
Jaipur
Dr Sharad Paul will be the only New Zealander presenting at the Jaipur Literature Festival, which is the largest in the world, and is held at Diggi Palace in the Rajasthani capital Jaipur, commencing on January 21.
It will be his second year at a literary festival in India, and this year will be speaking about his book Skin – A Biography that explores the history and politics of skin and skin colour.
An internationally recognised expert in skin cancer, writer and a social entrepreneur, Dr Paul believes in equal healthcare for all. He diagnoses thousands of patients for free, every year, at his clinic in Auckland.
The Festival hosts many eminent
writers and journalists from all over the world including
Margaret Attwood, Alexander McCall-Smith, Stephen Fry,
William Dalrymple, Atul Gawande, Niall Ferguson, Armistead
Maupin, Esther Freud, Colm Toibin, Hannah Rothschild and
journalists including Marie Bremner and Alex
Shoumatoff.
