Alt-Country Newcomer Stretch Hits the Road for Summer Tour
Alt-country singer songwriter Stretch is packing up his guitar, harmonicas and kick-drum and getting ready to ramble his
way through New Zealand towns for a summer tour of intimate, exhilarating shows. His repertoire of material spans from
dark-hearted ballads to roof-raising choruses; set to a boot stomping backbeat while Stretch’s soulful voice cuts
through it all.
2015 saw Stretch light up venues from coast to coast across two national tours, earning the kind of rave reviews only
the most passionate live performance justifies. The Rogue Stage described him as ‘a pure hearted performer, giving life
to great old country songs and making his own sound like long time classics’.
With a recorded live EP already under his belt and a music feature in the TV show This Town, Stretch is currently
finishing off his debut album, to be released later in 2016.
Playing shows in such small-town character venues as the Raumati Social Club, Te Puka Tavern and Gisborne’s historic
seaside Dome, you won’t want to miss out on this up-and-coming alt-country star. With a voice rich in emotion and a
desire to connect to audiences everywhere, Stretch is making fans the old fashioned way, one music lover at a time.
See below for the dates Stretch’s summer 2016 tour.
"A hard working troubadour, a bit alt-country, a bit Springsteen and even a little bit Tom Waits. Wit and sweat and
heartfelt songs."
