Party on Federal Street! The Festival returns

The popular Federal Street Festival is back and this year it’s better than ever, with two days of live entertainment and pop up stalls from each of the street’s signature restaurants.

The free public event was so popular last year that organisers have decided to span it over two days this year – Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November. As well as tasting the best food that the street has to offer and enjoying live entertainment, festival goers will also get a taste of SKYCITY’s newest eatery, Andy’s Burgers & Bar, set to open in mid-December.

John Mortensen, Auckland General Manager, is looking forward to hosting the event again this year.

“The Federal Street shared space has been such a success over the past year. We’re celebrating by inviting the public to come and experience the great food, fun entertainment and welcoming atmosphere of Federal Street,” says Mr Mortensen.

The pop up restaurants will each serve a signature item of food from their menu including lamb and beef skewers from Bellota, suckling pig fritter sliders from The Grill, gochujang lamb cutlets from Masu, New York cheesecake from Federal Delicatessen, and a savannah cheeseburger from Andy’s Burgers & Bar. Clevedon oysters will also be serving freshly shucked oysters, and a pop up bar will offer a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

The festival will deliver an impressive line up of live entertainment across both days including Tiki Taane and DJ Arii Jade with Boh Runga performing on Friday night, and Sola Rosa performing on Saturday.

Food and beverages at the festival will be purchased using Festival Dollars, which can be purchased at the event.

The festival will run from 4pm-10pm on Friday 27 November and from 11am to 10pm on Saturday 28 November.
