On Saturday November 7th, over 120 riders took part in the second annual "Need for Tweed" ride, organised by Newtown bike shop Bicycle Junction. The procession, clad in dapper vintage fancy dress, departed from Shelly Bay in the afternoon bound for the city. After a stop at Cog Park for tea, games and sandwiches, the group promenaded up the new Victoria Street cycle way and down Cuba St to finish at the Rogue & Vagabond. A keg of beer, kindly supplied by Garage Project, was shared, and over $700 was raised for the Bikes in Schools charity.
