OPERA FACTORY PRESENTS FUN, FESTIVE, FAMILY TREAT
Talented youth from all over Auckland will stage the classic story of 'A Christmas Carol' in December.
This is the third time Opera Factory has presented the enchanting musical opera over their 25 year history of producing
operas, concerts and special events starring young and emerging singers. ‘A Christmas Carol’ remains one of their most
popular productions enjoyed by audiences and singers of all ages.
Composed by well-known New Zealander, Philip Norman, ‘A Christmas Carol’ depicts the adventures of the miserly Scrooge,
Tiny Tim and haunting ghosts. Highly suitable for all ages, the show has engaging characters, catchy tunes, witty
comedy, beautiful music and dramatic visionary scenes all closely following the Charles Dickens novel of the same name.
Opera Factory will showcase a large and talented cast in a semi-staged and fully costumed production at the Raye
Freedman Theatre in Epsom for two performances only on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th December.
Cast includes; Aidan Gill as Scrooge, Emma Sloman, Leila Alexander and Mark Covich as the three ghosts, Edward McKnight
as Marley, Arthur Adams-Close and Charlotte Pridham as Mr and Mrs Cratchit, with young Lukas Maher as Tiny Tim, and
Rosemarie Brown, Kelly Harris, Oliver Mitchell and Timothy Burrell in supportive roles alongside a large ensemble and
children’s chorus. Evans Chuang and Megan Quatermass head the music team, and the director is Sally Sloman.
