Cat Power Solo - Two NZ Shows Confirmed for February

Cat Power Solo - Two NZ Shows Confirmed for February

Cat Power returns to New Zealand in early February for two intimate theatre-only performances.

She will play at the Paramount Theatre in Wellington on Tuesday 2 February and Auckland’s beautiful Crystal Palace in Mt Eden onWednesday 3 February.

Tickets for both solo shows are available from 9am TODAY for MyTicketmaster members and 9am tomorrow on general sale from Ticketmaster.co.nz

The tour is proudly presented by Plus1, undertheradar, 95bFM and RadioActive.

Expect songs from across her career as well as new material destined for her follow-up album to 2012’s Sun, which reached a career-high No 10 on the US Billboard album charts.

Cat Power - a.k.a Georgia-born singer / songwriter Chan Marshall - loves touring New Zealand and Australia – and can’t wait to return in early 2016.

This tour follows on from a busy, very special 2015. This year Chan became a Mum AND also found time to lend her stunning vocals alongside Jakob Dylan to a lost classic from ‘60s mavericks The Turtles. This song features on Echo In The Canyon, an all-star indie tribute to the California folk-sound.

Chan also recently provided the voiceover to Janis, a movie-length documentary about troubled female rock-pioneer Janis Joplin, which made its debut at the Venice Film Festival in September.

But come February 2016 it’s all about Cat Power live in New Zealand for two intimate solo shows.

"An artist at the peak of her powers faced the crowd and her demons armed only with a guitar, a piano and her courage" The Guardian.
