9 November 2015 - The Yacht Racing Forum will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, on December 7 - 8. No less than 230 delegates including twenty-five media representatives from all over the world have already confirmed their participation and the list is growing by the day.
This year’s hot issues include the present and future of yacht racing, sailing on TV, the best way for sailing events or teams to use social networks, Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Ultime Class, commercial strategies for small and medium sized events, sustainability and much more.
Running parallel to the Business and Marketing Conference, the Design & Technology Symposium will focus on the latest innovations including foiling, the integration of more composite materials in the design process, rating rules and aeronautics.
Last but not least, the Risk Management & Safety conference will discuss risks and liabilities, regulations to ensure crew safety, insurances and much more.
The list of speakers includes some of todays’ greatest actors from within the yacht racing industry, including key note speakers Ian Walker, Gary Jobson, Knut Frostad, François Gabart and Peter Sowrey (see the entire speakers’ list on the event website).
« The feed back from the industry is extremely positive and we are looking forward to welcoming the sports’ key actors to Geneva », says Bernard Schopfer, the event’s manager. « The Yacht Racing Forum facilitates business development through providing quality networking opportunities with decision makers from all areas within the industry. Besides the official sessions, the Forum will once again offer a unique possibility to meet representatives from other classes, events and countries in an informal way, to discuss, debate and negotiate the sport’s future and make business. »
The Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image 2015 will be announced and celebrated during the Forum, on Tuesday, December 8. Whilst the international Jury has already selected the best image of the year, the delegates from the Forum will be asked to vote to select the winner of the Public Award.
Last but not least, delegates from the Forum will have several opportunities to share good moments; they will taste Swiss wines and chocolates, and enjoy a relaxed evening reception at the Société Nautique de Genève.
