Walk-in room only for V8 Supercars Drive-in Movie

Car spaces for the free V8 Supercars Drive-in Movie have all been snapped up – but there is still plenty of seating for people turning up on foot.

Aucklanders leapt at the chance to drive on up to see Fast and Furious 6, screening at the ASB Showgrounds this Saturday, with all 350 car spaces now booked out and a growing waiting list in case of cancellations.

Entry is still available and free to people travelling on foot or by public transport, for seating in the ASB Showgrounds Pavilion or on the grass bank. No registration is necessary to walk in and grab a seat.

Gates open at 7pm on Saturday, and those attending by car must be at the venue and parked by 8pm, with their ticket displayed in their car windscreens.

The movie starts at 8.15pm. There will be live entertainment from 7pm, food and drink stalls, and chances to win great prizes before the feature starts.

The V8s Supercars Drive-in Movie is one of the free events happening in Auckland to celebrate the return of the V8 Supercars.

On Thursday 5 November, V8s take over the central city for the V8s Supercars Fan Day at Aotea Square.

The V8 Supercar drivers will parade up Queen St in a convoy of classic American muscle cars.

Aotea Square will have free activities 10am – 3pm, with the V8 supercar drivers on-site from midday until 1.15pm.

Fans can meet the drivers, get autographs and selfies, test their skills on the recently released Forza Motorsport 6 Xbox game, check out high performance remote controlled cars, get a close-up look at the 30 muscle cars, and get into high gear for the ITM 500 Auckland 2015. Lucky gamers will have the chance to pit their console skills against champion drivers.
