Visiting Teacher of Secular Buddhism

Published: Sat 17 Oct 2015 10:57 AM
Visiting Teacher of Secular Buddhism recommends saying 'Yes!' to life.
From where should we take advice on how to live? What should we aspire to become? What would count as a fulfilling and dignified life? What kind of community is suitable for both human and spiritual growth?
Australian secular Buddhist teacher Winton Higgins will be In Conversation with Noel Cheer on these themes at St Andrews on The Terrace, Wellington from 12:15pm to 1pm on Friday October 23rd. The event is sponsored by St Andrews Trust for the Study of Religion and Society.
Winton fosters interest in the original teachings and their affinity with modern streams of thought and progressive social commitments. His meditation teaching has developed towards non-formulaic insight practice based on the Buddha's original teachings, with a secular approach to Buddhism.
While in Wellington, Winton will also be running a weekend workshop on October 24th & 25th. Entry is free, and donations are encouraged.
