Kog Productions presents: Tātou Tātou E V5.
A 4-track release of Roots, Reggae, Culture with a bilingual fusion of te reo Māori, the Tātou Tātou E collective is
back.
This time, this E.P features artists from our collective:
Huia Hamon (Kaiwaiata/Songwriter), Kevin Mark Trail (UK Kaiwaiata, Songwriter, Music) and Kiri Eriwata (Kaiwaiata/Writer).
Written by Kevin Mark Trail and tikanga/translated by Charles Royal, yet again the collective have produced fresh waiata
for the summer journeys.
With the vibes of Reggae, funk and raw organic percussion, TTEV5 is a must for the road trip playlists and for those learning te reo Māori. It’s more important than even to be
part of a bilingual world and listening to music is the perfect way to do this.
Lyrically, TTEV5 is conscious, political world issues in Kairakua, looking after our whenua and remembering our whakapapa in Pūrakau Whenua, and
falling for that special person again in Taka Ano, Ngāua Ano. It’s waiata you can relate to, speaking of the conditions
of the human psyche and the balance of love/hate, war and peace.
The music was created as demo’s in Titirangi Valley, Waitakere, Aoteaoroa by Kevin Mark Trail on his journey from UK around the world. Layers
of piano, deep skanks, booming bass-lines and live drums by Te Omeka Perkins (House Of Shem) with the tracks lovingly recorded at Noise Control Studios with Djeison Suskov and Stu Fu, and mixed Kog Studio, the production line up for the E.P. is stellar.
