Help choose the V8 Supercars Drive-in Movie
You can help choose which movie plays at the free V8 Supercars Drive-in Movie, taking place at the ASB Showgrounds on Saturday 31 October.
The Rock FM is holding an online poll for Aucklanders to vote for their preferred movie option, from Wednesday 7 October to 4pm, Thursday 15 October.
The choice is between high-octane offerings Need for Speed, Fast and Furious 6 and Gone in 60 Seconds.
The V8s Supercars Drive-in Movie is one of the free events happening in Auckland to celebrate the return of the V8 Supercars.
While entry is free, people will need to register online in advance and display a ticket in their car window. Online registrations will open on Friday 16 October on www.aucklandnz.com/v8s. Registration will be open until Thursday 29 October, but spaces are limited so get quick to secure a spot.
On the night, gates will open at 7pm and the feature starts at 8.30pm. There will be live entertainment until the movie starts, food and drink stalls, and chances to win great prizes.
To vote for the movie, go to www.therock.net.nz.
• Thursday 5 November, V8s take over the central city for the V8s Supercars Fan Day at Aotea Square.
• The V8 Supercar drivers will parade up Queen St in a convoy of classic American muscle cars.
• Aotea Square will have free activities 10am – 3pm, with the V8 supercar drivers on-site from midday until 1.15pm.
• Fans can meet the drivers, get autographs and selfies, test their skills on the recently released Forza Motorsport 6 Xbox game, check out high performance remote controlled cars, get a close-up look at the 28 muscle cars, and get into high gear for the ITM 500 Auckland 2015. Lucky gamers will have the chance to pit their console skills against champion drivers.
• The V8s Supercars Drive-in Movie and V8s Supercars Fan Day are organised by Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) in conjunction with V8 Supercars.
• The high-octane ITM 500 Auckland V8 Supercars returns to Pukekohe Park Raceway from Friday 6 – Sunday 8 November, with no-holds-barred sprint action, motorsport racing and family entertainment.
