Jakob + Beastwars nationwide tour kicks off tonight
Tonight sees the colossal union of New Zealand's best heavyweight metal/post-rock outfits for an epic, four-date national tour: Beastwars and Jakob.
The inimitable Beastwars abide by one steadfast maxim: Obey the Riff; described as 'a mongrel mix of Kyuss, Neurosis, and the mighty Godflesh…' (NZ Herald). New Zealand’s prog-rock heroes Jakob are a formidable sonic three-piece who in 2015 bounced back from years of injuries and interruptions to win the Taite Prize for their critically acclaimed, powerhouse recordSines.
To witness these bands sharing a stage will be an almighty boot-shaking experience - not to be missed. And it all kicks off tonight (Friday 2 October) at Christchurch's Churchill's Live. (Attendees note that the venue for tonight's Christchurch show has changed - all tickets to the previous venue will be honoured.) These leaders of rock then move on to play Dunedin tomorrow 3rd October, Wellington on Friday 9th October, and culminating in a blistering display in Auckland on Saturday 10th October.
Tickets are still available - get in quick at undertheradar.co.nz and check out facebook for more details.
