Holder looks to thank supporters at Wairarapa
Mount Maunganui rally driver David Holder will be looking to reward his supporters with a strong result at the final round of the Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship, the Trusthouse Racetech Rally Wairarapa.
In what has been a tough season for the 26-year old, Holder has struggled to make the start line since a major crash in the opening round of the championship, but was able to make a comeback at the recent Coromandel round to record a podium finish. Holder sees the final round of the championship as the perfect opportunity to deliver a result to the many people who have supported him throughout the year, and in particular NZ Forest Leasing and VINZ who made the final event possible.
Holder will team up with Jason Farmer for the event, only the second time that the pair has competed together, but a combination that Holder claims has already proved to be a successful partnership.
“Even though we are out of contention from a championship perspective, Jase and I are still keen to put our best performance out there in what looks to be a star studded field filled with old and new talent. As usual it will come down to what you bring on the day so I'll be trying my best on every corner, the rest is out of our hands,” says Holder.
The pair have had a busy time in the six weeks between events, with Farmer taking the opportunity to work as a co-driver on a Korean reality TV programme, while Holder has already been looking towards an exciting opportunity for the 2016 season, and organising a fundraising dinner to help make the opportunity happen.
The dinner which will take place in Mt Maunganui on November 20th, will include special guests, current Hyundai WRC driver Hayden Paddon and former Pikes Peak and New Zealand Rally Champion Rod Millen. The evening will also feature a live auction, including Paddon’s first pair of race overalls from his time with the Hyundai WRC team.
“We've got something in the pipeline at the moment for next year, it's early days yet but we have the path in front of us. Now it's a matter of making it happen,” states Holder.
“We’re really hoping the motorsport community gets behind our November 20th event. Come along and get some great entertainment from past, present and hopefully future NZ motor sport stars....who knows you might even walk away with NZ's very own WRC driver’s race suit to hang in the wardrobe.”
Holder Brothers Racing would like to thank the sponsors that make their campaign possible; Stadium Cars, Stadium Finance, Force Automotive, VINZ, NZ Carbon Farming, Provident Insurance, Bell Booth Limited, Reaction Racing, Endless Brakes, Team Ralliart NZ, Monit Rally Computers, Amplified Customs - Signwriting, Attentive Design, Tauranga Beaurepaires, Dunlop, Total Lubricants Mt Maunganui, Sew Hot Monograms, Mount Wheel Alignment, and Hayden Paddon.
