Rockers The Dead Daisies release new album Revolución ahead of October concert in Auckland

Rockers The Dead Daisies return to Auckland in October on tour with the greatest rock and roll band in rock ‘n’ roll history – KISS.

Performing as part of one of the most spectacular shows this year, The Dead Daisies will join the extravaganza on Friday 16 October at Vector Arena in Auckland.

The band has just completed a USA tour with Whitesnake and European dates with KISS on their 40thAnniversary world tour which included playing the largest festivals on the continent.

The Dead Daisies were last in New Zealand in November 2014 and this year the tour coincides with the release of a new album Revolución, an album which Classic Rock Mag has described as “the best Rock album I have heard in a long time … an incredible energy”.

Influenced by 70’s and 80’s hard rock, The Dead Daisies are bringing back Rock and Roll with one hit after another.

A rock collective comprised of musicians from the world's biggest rock bands, The Dead Daisies line up is currently Richard Fortus (Guns N' Roses) on guitar, Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake) on bass, Dizzy Reed (Guns N' Roses) on keyboard/vocals, Brian Tichy (Whitesnake/Billy Idol/Ozzy Osbourne) on drums, David Lowy (MINK/Red Phoenix) on rhythm guitar and featuring new lead vocalistJohn Corabi, former lead singer of Mötley Crüe, The Scream and Union. Corabi joined the band in time to work on the new album.

“The Dead Daisies have been an absolute blast for me so far. The guys are all great musicians, and also incredibly easy to work with. We’ve just smashed the US and we can’t wait to head to New Zealand with our friends KISS to continue the 'Revolucion',”Corabi said.

Back in February 2015, the Daisies got the chance to play some rock’n’roll in Cuba and it proved a revelation. The revelation became a revolution as the boys started conceiving their next album. The passion they’d experienced in Cuba was confirmation – the world needs to be reminded that classic rock is alive and kicking – and with the new album, and new singer John Corabi, The Dead Daisies were going to deliver just that, an album of classic rock Revolución! They even found time to record additional tracks for Revolución at Abdala recording studios with producer Ben Grosse (Marilyn Manson, Sevendust), who accompanied them on the journey.

Revolución also features drumming from Jackie Barnes, who is the son of Scottish born Australian singer Jimmy Barnes.

The entire Cuban adventure has also been made into a short film and a photo e-book. Released around the album in the USA and Australia, the documentary also premiered for the first time on Twitter on August 1 2015. Both titled, Revolución, they were shot by photographer Katarina Benzova and Cuban videographer Karel Renzoly Green and the short film was edited by filmmaker Kenn Michael and produced by music and film producer Danny Saber. The documentary will be screened on Qantas 'On Q' In Flight entertainment in October and November.

The Daisies’ sound is soulful and accessible-equal parts The Faces, Bad Company and Foreigner: muscular vocals, bluesy riffs, big choruses, powerful melodies and strong hooks. Whether inspired by Elvis or The Beatles, Led Zeppelin or Jimi Hendrix, it always started with the music, and that’s what The Dead Daisies are all about.
