NZB’s Ready to Run Sale Catalogue Online Today
The catalogue for New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale – the most successful sale of two-year-olds in Australasia - is now available online and on the free iPad applicationwith catalogues due in letterboxes early next week.
New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Olds boast four times the number of Group wins of any comparable sale in Australasia in the last three seasons with 28 wins. With 12 Group 1 wins, it is the only sale of its kind to produce a Group 1 winner in that time.
This year’s Sale has attracted 397 well-educated two-year-olds to go under the hammer on 18 & 19 November at Karaka, with an extensive selection of 108 sires from New Zealand and Australia to choose from.
Catalogue highlights include:
• 44 siblings to stakes winners including siblings to Group 1 winners Anacheeva, Better Life, Headturner, Irish Fling, O’Marilyn, Savaria, Spalato andTitch.
• The progeny of 35 stakes winners including Group 1 winning damsCannsea, Imananabaa, Linky Dink, Rostova and Zirna.
• 26 horses nominated for the Karaka Million, 4 fillies nominated for the Pearl Series, 61 horses that are BOBS eligible and 13 Super VOBIS nominated horses.
• New Zealand sires such as Cape Blanco, Darci Brahma, Iffraaj, Jimmy Choux, Keeper, Makfi, Mastercraftsman, O’Reilly, Pentire, Per Incanto, Pins, Rip Van Winkle, Savabeel, Shocking, Showcasing, Tavistock, Thewayyouare and Thorn Park among many others represented.
• Australian sires such as Bel Esprit, Commands, Encosta de Lago, Exceed and Excel, Fastnet Rock, Foxwedge, Hichinbrook, Hussonet, Lonhro, Not a Single Doubt, Sebring, So You Think and more are represented.
Last season NZB Ready to Run Sale graduates won 19 stakes races, and with 12 individual stakes winners, three of them emerged as Group 1 winners with Mongolian Khan (Holy Roman Emperor), Turn Me Loose (NZ) (Iffraaj) and Gaultier (NZ) (Rios).
Capping off a brilliant three-year-old season was dual Derby winner Mongolian Khan for Mr Lang Lin’s Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Group. The son of Holy Roman Emperor took victory in the Group 1 New Zealand Derby before making the trip across the Tasman to triumph in the Group 1 Australian Derby – the first horse to win the two Derby races since Bonecrusher (NZ) (Pag-Asa) 30 years ago.
Victory in the Group 1 New Zealand Two Thousand Guineas was the highlight for Turn Me Loose last season. It was the second consecutive year a graduate of NZB’s Ready to Run Sale won the Group 1 three-year-old feature following the win of Atlante (Fastnet Rock) in 2013.
Also to top their three-year-old season with Group 1 success just one year from the fall of the hammer was Gaultier, winning the Group 1 Levin Classic. A $17,500 purchase at the 2013 Ready to Run Sale, Gaultier is an example of the great value that can be found at the Sale.
Other stakes winners last season include Absolutely (NZ) (Coats Choice), Atlante,Balotelli (NZ) (My Halo), Bobo So Cute (NZ) (Savabeel), Faaltless (Faaltat), Fay Fay(NZ) (Falkirk), El Padrino (NZ) (Mr. Nancho), Mission Well (NZ) (Elusive City) andYousingwedance (NZ) (Danasinga).
Last season’s stakes wins are just one example of what can be accomplished with an NZB Ready to Run Sale graduate, with the Sale having produced 107 stakes wins over the past six seasons.
Every horse entered in the Ready to Run Sale has the opportunity to Breeze Up with the last 200m of their work filmed and timed. Breeze-Ups are scheduled to be conducted at Te Rapa Racecourse on 19 & 20 October and will be online on Tuesday 27 October and DVD copies available on request.
New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale will be held on 18 & 19 November 2015 with selling commencing at 12pm each day.
