Annual Dunedin Hui Calls All Fringe Dwellers
The Dunedin Fringe Festival will host a second annual Fringe Hui event on Tuesday 15th September at 5.30pm. The event gives artists, event organisers and others from the community an opportunity to reflect on this year’s Festival and plan for the 2016 event that runs 3-13 March.
Established last year by the then new Festival Director, Josh Thomas, the event is now an annual part of the Festival’s calendar. “The inaugural Fringe Hui in 2014 instantly felt like it should happen every year as a valuable touchstone for both seasoned artists and those new to the Fringe” Mr Thomas explained. “It’s in informal event that provides a platform to talk through our experiences delivering one of Dunedin’s most dynamic arts festivals” he adds, “ The Fringe Hui will look at what we can build on to make the 2016 Festival the best it can be”.
The Dunedin Fringe Festival is open-access, meaning anyone is welcome to take part and the Fringe Hui provides information about how to register an event. Funding support is available through the Festival and details about the funding round, which closes on 9th October, will also be covered. Registrations close 30th October.
