NZ Music Foundation – official charity partner for the 2015 APRA Silver Scroll Awards
APRA AMCOS today announced that The NZ Music Foundation will be its charity partner for the 50th anniversary of the 2015 APRA Silver Scroll Awards. This year marks the second year that APRA AMCOS has supported the charity through its prestigious annual awards ceremony.
The NZ Music Foundation provides emergency assistance for people in the kiwi music industry experiencing illness, distress and hardship. It also works across New Zealand to positively influence the lives of people in need through music projects.
This year, the charity will be highlighting its work with people in the music community that find themselves in crisis due to misfortune, serious illness, accident, loss and other traumatic life events.
“A life in music enriches our culture, but the reality for those working in the NZ music industry is that it can be a very uncertain career” says Peter Dickens, General Manager of The NZ Music Foundation. “The NZ Music Foundation provides caring, confidential and practical support to those from the music community who find themselves in great need, but have nowhere to turn. We’d like to thank APRA AMCOS for their support of our work and the opportunity to raise awareness at this fantastic event”
The NZ Music Foundation is running a competition for two members of the public to each win a double pass to the invite-only 2015 APRA Silver Scroll Award gala dinner and awards ceremony at Vector Arena. To enter, the public can visit http://bit.ly/NZMFSilverScroll2015 for more information.
“The work of The NZ Music Foundation in bringing the benefits of music to those in need throughout our country and also with the music community in New Zealand is outstanding” says APRA AMCOS’ Anthony Healey. “We’re pleased to be able to support them on this special evening and highlight the work they do to our members and the public.”
This year marks the 50th presentation of the APRA Silver Scroll Award, New Zealand’s only peer-voted music award. The APRA Silver Scroll Awards will be held at Vector Arena in Auckland on Thursday 17th September 2015. A big thanks to our sponsors Becks and Peter Yealands Wines. The awards will be streamed live via www.95bfm.com and the APRA AMCOS website:www.apraamcos.co.nz.
