One Punt at a Million
We call ourselves a ‘stadium of four million’ rugby fans, but how well do we really know our rugby?
The TAB wants to find out, today launching ‘One Punt at a Million’ – a competition to see if there is anyone in New Zealand who can pick the outcome of all 48 matches at the 2015 Rugby World Cup. If there is, the TAB will give them a share of $1 million.
“I think the TAB could be in a bit of trouble here, if there’s one topic Kiwis young and old know a bit about – it’s rugby. There’s a good possibility somebody out there is going to become $1 million richer,” says TAB Rugby Ambassador Richard Turner.
Entry to the competition is free and simple to play - all you have to do is register at www.onepunt.co.nz and pick the winning team and margin for every game.
Punters have until midnight on 18 September to get your picks in. The World Cup kicks off with the opening match between England and Fiji at Twickenham on September 19.
“This time round the tournament is on the other side of the world at the opposite end of the day, One Punt at a Million is going to help Kiwis feel like they’re at the heart of the action all the time. Don’t just be a spectator, get involved!” says Turner.
The competition is open to all New Zealand residents aged 18 or over. There is a limit of one entry per person.
Full contest rules along with more information about the ‘One Punt at $1 Million’ can be found at www.onepunt.co.nz.
Good luck New Zealand.
