Waikare Komene of the Roots to Present at Studio One Toi T Ū Open Nights
Every month, Studio One Toi Tū plays host to a free, connective Open Night, offering a glimpse into the mind and process of one of Auckland’s prominent creative community talents. The September edition of Open Nights is an engaging conversation with Waikare Komene of The Roots Creative Entrepreneurs. The free public event will take place onWednesday 9 September, 2015 between 5.30 and 6.30pm.
Waikare Komene is a young professional from Otara who is passionate about empowering communities from the grassroots up. He's is a qualified architect and the driving force behind The Roots Creative Entrepreneurs, a creative business, a movement and a network based on the five values of roots, creativity, sustainability, intergenerational and community. The Roots aims to empower young people by developing opportunities to showcase creativity, innovation and design by educating young people from high school age up about sustainability and environmental awareness.
Don't miss this opportunity to hear from one of our city's most hard-working, positive and inspired community leaders, Waikare Komene. Everyone is welcome to join in, and the evening will end with the opportunity to mingle with light refreshments upstairs in the Studio One shared space.
