The Cream of Wahine Māori Business Leaders Set to Meet.
Māori women business leaders and decision makers from throughout Aotearoa are set to meet in Auckland onFriday July 24
for the annual Huihuinga Wahine Māori Women’s Leadership Summit.
The summit, which is in its fourth year, is hosted by the Federation of Māori Authorities (FOMA).
FOMA chairman Traci Houpapa said the one day conference brought the country’s top Māori women chairs, deputy chairs,
CEs, GMs, directors, trustees and governors together to discuss economic and commercial issues important to them and the
entities they represent.
“The speakers are always uplifting, inspiring and challenging. They are people who are unapologetically focused on
achievement and success for all New Zealanders, with a special commitment to Māori economic development,” Ms Houpapa
said.
The Summit, held at the Novotel Auckland Airport, is headlined by a strong line-up of speakers including Te Rununga o
Ngai Tahu Chief Executive Arihia Bennett, Dame Jenny Shipley and Master Chefs Kasey and Karena Bird.
Ms Houpapa said it was important to bring the country’s leading and emerging businesswoman together to foster networks
and to provide encouragement and support.
“Wahine Māori are a growing and increasingly important part of the national economic landscape. The purpose of this hui
is to come together to inspire, inform and uplift.
“These are admirable outcomes which in turn flow through to the businesses and entities that those who attend our
conference represent.”
