Saturday - 17 July 2015 | Maori Language Week is fast approaching, and the wero is going out to protect and preserve the language. In Korero Mai ki Ahau this week Eruera Morgan talks to Whanganui Regional Museum kaiwhakaako Awhina Twoomey from Te Ati Haunui aa Paapaarangi about whether there is any commitment to te
reo Maori in wider New Zealand. She looks forward to the day when speaking to her tamariki in te reo Maori anywhere and at any time is no longer viewed as a novelty.
Maori Language week, Te Wiki o te reo Maori begins on July 27.
Sunday 18 July 2015 | The leak of real estate auction data that appeared to show a disproportionate number of high priced Auckland homes going to Chinese
non-resident buyers caused a storm this week. Labour got accused by both National and the Greens of playing the race card by releasing the data,
but others said it highlighted law laws that encouraged speculation. On waateanews.com blogger Martin Bradbury suggested it's giving Pakeha a
taste of what Maori understand about losing your sovereignty by losing your land. New Zealand First has led the charge over the years against land sales to foreign buyers. Eruera Morgan talks housing and tino rangaratanga with MP Pita Paraone.
Korero Mai Ki Ahau a half hour features programme every Saturday and Sunday from noon, which takes an in – depth look at issues affecting te ao Maori. Totally in te reo Maori brought to you by Waatea Newsin association with Te Mangai Paho.
