Pete And Pio Join Forces for New Maori Tv Food Show
Comedian, actor and entertainer Pio Terei has teamed up with television foodie Pete Peeti to highlight the great Kiwi outdoors inPETE AND PIO, starting this Friday at 8pm.
The pair head out on a kai safari around Aotearoa and share their experience of food gathering – and eating – and the people they met along the way over 13 mouth-watering episodes.
Pete, the former host of KAI TIME ON THE ROAD, says working alongside Pio was one of the highlights of the journey.
“We both bring a different skill set; Pio is a master at his craft when it comes to communicating, and a born entertainer.
“I was able to share my knowledge in the harvesting, gathering and cooking of kai,” he says.
“It was also great meeting and learning from people all around the country. I truly believe people, places and food are the best recipe for success”
PETE AND PIO begins in Maketu where the pair are treated to a delicious ‘seafood pie’ prepared by celebrity chefs, Kasey and Karena Bird.
Further down the track, the duo find themselves diving for seafood in one of New Zealand’s greatest diving spots, the Poor Knights Islands. Raglan, Island Bay and Motueka are also on the map.
