Coromandel parks have good grounds
Want to enjoy a break in New Zealand’s best holiday park grounds? Head for the Coromandel.
Two Coromandel holiday parks were named as having the best grounds in the country at the annual Holiday Parks Awards.
Hot Water Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park was the award winner, with Flaxmill Bay Accommodation and Campground being highly
commended in the category.
Seven years of hard work paid off for Hot Water Beach Park’s owners, Sheree and Grant Webster.
“We purchased the property in late 2008 with the intent of developing a holiday park. A quarter of the area was a native
nursery and the remaining property was bare land and bush,” Mrs Webster says.
“Since then, we have been planting annually to provide shelter, aesthetic value and encourage the native bird life at
Hot Water Beach.”
Hot Water Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park was also a finalist in the Resco – Best Upgrade Award.
Other Coromandel parks recognised in the 2015 Holiday Parks Awards were:

AA Traveller Spirit of Hospitality Award finalist - Beachaven Kiwi Holiday Park, Waihi Beach
The Awards ceremony was held during the holiday park sector’s annual conference, attended by about 300 Holiday
Accommodation Parks Association of New Zealand’s (HAPNZ) members.
HAPNZ Chief Executive Fergus Brown says it was great to see Coromandel holiday parks recognised in the Awards.
“These parks are making real efforts to improve both their facilities and the local environment,” Mr Brown says.
