Halberg Sport for Life Charity Dinner Announced
Scotty Stevenson to host sports panel featuring Gordon Tietjens, Steve Price and Corey Peters
The Harcourts Foundation has today announced the Halberg ‘Sport for Life’ charity dinner taking place on Thursday 31 July at the SKYCITY Convention Centre in Auckland to raise funds for the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation.
The Halberg ‘Sport for Life’ dinner will include a panel discussion hosted by Sky Sport commentator Scotty Stevenson, featuring Warriors player Steve Price, New Zealand Rugby Sevens Coach Gordon Tietjens and Paralympic Skier Corey Peters.
The evening will also include a live auction of unique sport experiences and memorabilia. All funds raised at the event will support the work of the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation, the charity set up by Sir Murray Halberg, which enhances the lives of physically disabled New Zealanders by enabling them to participate in sport and recreation.
The Foundation’s work includes a team of Disability Sport Advisers around the country who connect physically disabled people to sport and recreation opportunities in schools, clubs and in their communities as well as providing grants for adaptive sports equipment, lessons and camps.
The Halberg ‘Sport for Life’ Dinner is hosted by the Harcourts Foundation, the charitable arm of the real estate group, which provides funding to community groups around the country. The inaugural Halberg Sport For Life dinner was in October 2014 with close to $60,000 raised for the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation.
