Vodafone Warriors Deputy CEO Announced
Vodafone Fantastic Fridays has appointed a new Deputy CEO for the Vodafone Warriors, following a nationwide search for the candidate.
Lucy Scott (aged 20) from Meadowbank, Auckland was selected from thousands of hopeful applicants all vying to hold the title of Vodafone Warriors Deputy CEO from June 12 -15, during which time she will shadow Jim Doyle and shoulder some of the responsibility that comes from leading a team like the Vodafone Warriors.
Scott is a nursing student at MIT and an avid Vodafone Warriors fan who used to go to the games with her Dad. Since he moved to Sydney, she has carried on the tradition with her partner and has now been a fan for eight years!
Of the role, Scott says she is most looking forward to being able to meet the team that she has supported for so long.
“We see them play but never get to meet them in person,” she says. “This is an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime, money-can’t-buy opportunity!”
As well as cheering the players on during their game versus the Sydney Roosters on June 13th, Lucy Scott will be motivating and preparing the team at the Captain’s Run training session beforehand; meeting important stakeholders with Jim Doyle; supporting Jim Doyle as he makes decisions relevant to game day; and taking part in media interviews about the team.
Although the role is just for a few days, Scott will be an integral part of the Vodafone Warriors team and enjoy a raft of job benefits, including a Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S6 phone loaded with credit, a personalised Vodafone Warriors jersey, accommodation at SKYCITY, a personal car park at Mt Smart Stadium – and many other perks from Vodafone Fantastic Fridays.
Matt Williams, Vodafone’s Consumer Director who was part of the selection panel, says he is pleased to see a deserving candidate in the role.
“Lucy impressed us throughout the selection process – from her initial application, to the formal interview we conducted with her earlier this week. She is clearly an avid fan of the Vodafone Warriors, and we believe she will make a valued member of the team during her stint with them. We wish her all the best.”
