Intrepid Time Lapse Photographer Joseph Michael to Speak at Studio One Toi Tū Open Nights
Each month, Studio One Toi Tū Open Nights hosts a prominent Auckland creative for a unique conversational presentation. This Wednesday evening, Studio One Toi Tū will see prominent Auckland-based time-lapse photographer Joseph Michael discuss his recent adventures in Antarctica.
Joseph Michael embodies the magic balance of technology and fine artistry. With a passion for the philosophical at the core of his practice, Michael seeks out the rare and sublime in the natural world and represents it dynamically, fusing creative vision with cutting-edge technology.
Michael will discuss his current Antarctica project at Open Nights and his exhibition in 2016; an encompassing international installation celebrating the pristine scenery of Antarctica. The work is a cinematic collision of nature and architecture, wherein Michael’s majestic imagery of Antarctic icebergs are projection-mapped onto significant buildings across the globe.
These free,
connective events offer a glimpse into the minds and
processes of some of Auckland’s most dynamic talent; with
the opportunity to mingle with light refreshments following
the presentation. The evenings are open to all, so get down
to Studio One Toi Tū and prepare to be inspired.
