A Taster of Exceptional Art And Culture for the Young

A Taster of Exceptional Art And Culture for the Young And the Young at Heart!

Auckland Live Presents
Pick & Mix

A fine spread of New Zealand’s funniest, bendy-est and most
artistically excellent performers are on offer for families this winter when the popular Pick & Mix returns to Auckland, playing this year at both the Aotea Centre and Town Hall, and for the first time ever at the Bruce Mason Centre. Running every Saturday and Sunday from June 20th – September 6th* this FREE series of performances and workshops sees Auckland Live giving back to the community and nurturing the voices of tomorrow.

With participation from some of the leaders in the NZ arts scene including the Royal New Zealand Ballet, APO Percussion Trio, New Zealand Opera and Atamira Dance Company; each event offers up a FREEperformance (10.30am) for the family followed by a FREE interactive workshop (11.30am) to teach the littlies (and the biggies) how to actively experience the art form on parade.

In its seventh year Pick & Mix continues to attract an impressive line-up of talent who are all committed to educating young people in a non-elitist environment about the beauty and fun of art and culture in its many unique forms.
Participants can experience and learn new skills like magic tricks with comedy star Jared Fell, get Circus-ring ready with The Dust Palace and sing their hearts out with National Youth Theatre Company.

“Pick & Mix has been a highlight of Auckland Live’s family programming since 2009. We are thrilled to bring this very popular series of free performances and workshops to the Bruce Mason Centre in 2015 for the first time to include even more children and their families in the fun!”
