GHOSTS - Baitercell and Kevin Mark Trail

"Ghosts" was born out of a reaction to the current state of society. Far too often the poor are getting poorer, and the natural resources in the world are being exploited. The indigenous cultures knowledge of the world are being ignored, and many of the systems that are in place are cracking at the seams. The science is pretty conclusive, if we as a species don't work out a reliable way to work in with nature, it will collapse in upon us, and grow back over us, and leave us as "Ghosts’ or ‘Duppy’. (Meaning ‘Ghost’ from KMT’s Jamaican heritage).

This song is a reminder, that we are all Kings and Queens, no matter your sex, race, or material wealth. We are part of this world and can only benefit by helping to maintains Earth’s balance, respecting all it’s creations. The world as we know it needs to change.

While writing "Ghosts" Baitercell and KMT were looking at examples of the fundamental systems of nature and the beautiful images that they form. There are different ways to perceive them, either through creating aesthetic experiences such as through music, or working in the science of nature, biology, chemistry, physics and maths. The images in the Music Video directed by Shae Sterling and conceptualised by Baitercell and KMT, are actual mathematical representations of natural process created using genetic algorithms. BAITERCELL / Chris Cheltand is a multi-award winning engineer and producer who has worked with many of NZ's top acts, notable recents include Jakob for their Taite award winning album 'Sines', Concord Dawn, Shapeshifter, P Money, Scribe, Kids of 88 and Head Like a Hole to name a few. He mixes his time between helping out NZ musicians and editing the evolutionary biology and philosophy sections of ‘Theoretical Biology Forum Journal’.

Kevin Mark Trail has been traveling the world since 2004 as a Singer, MC and Producer. His credits include Performer/Vocalist for The Streets, writing and recording with Nitin Sawhney, Estelle, Black Twang, Rodney P, MJ Cole, Sandy Rivera and supporting Beverly Knight, N.E.R.D, Massive Attack and Angie Stone. Over the past few years Kevin has spent a lot of time in New Zealand working along side Sola Rosa, Nathan Haines and Kog Studios.
