Over 150 fans to ring Cow Bell App at Chiefs v Highlanders

Over 150 fans to ring Cow Bell App at Chiefs v Highlanders

29 May 2015

For immediate release

Fans at this Saturday’s Chiefs v Highlanders game can expect to see the future of the mooloo cow bell, as one Waikato icon moves into the digital age.

The Cow Bell App from MEA Mobile is now live and free for download for a limited time for iPhone and Android devices in time for this weekend’s game.

The app is the company’s solution to recent confiscations of the iconic Waikato Mooloo bells at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium. MEA and app partner Deosan –also a major sponsor of the Chiefs –are already expecting more than 150 app-ringing fans this weekend.

“The cowbell is an integral part of the Waikato rugby identity,” says MEA Mobile Chairman and former England rugby player, Colin Groves. “The app means no more bloodied knuckles, and certainly no more confiscations. It is currently the most realistic-sounding cow bell on the market, so fans will continue to get the full mooloo bell experience.”

Not only will it allow fans to ring the most realistic-sounding cow bell on the market from their phones, but each bell has the ability to push the bells around it to also start ringing, via bluetooth peer connectivity.

The Cow Bell App from MEA Mobile is currently available for free in the App store https://itunes.apple.com/app/id988648108?mt=8&uo=4&at=11l4GB and the Google Play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.meamobile.cowbell
