95 Days Till New Zealand Fashion Week

95 Days Till New Zealand Fashion Week

The countdown is on until New Zealand’s biggest fashion event, with just 95 days to go until the opening night of New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW).

The weeklong celebration of New Zealand fashion will kick off with an opening ceremony on Monday 24th August, before a packed schedule of forward season (Autumn/Winter 2016) shows and public shows, sessions and parties over NZ Fashion Weekend.

The schedule for both NZFW and NZ Fashion Weekend are looking stronger than ever, with a mix of established and emerging New Zealand designers locking in their involvement with this year’s event.

Dame Pieter Stewart is excited about the 15th year of NZFW, which has evolved so much since she first started planning the event, 17 years ago.

“With our 15th event on the horizon, there’s no time to look back and get nostalgic about everything my team has achieved, right now we’re so busy piecing together what is going to be an amazing celebration of New Zealand fashion. We’ve got a fantastic group of designers wanting to show collections and an exciting group of international guests wanting to attend the event, so bring it on!” says Stewart.

The schedule of designers showing forward season collections during the week will be announced as soon as it is finalised, with an expected date of mid July.

The NZ Fashion Weekend schedule will be finalised in the coming weeks with tickets available to the public through iTICKET.co.nz.

Delegate registrations for media and buyers will open on Monday 22 June and delegates will have 6 weeks to register, with registrations closing on Monday 3 August.

This year the NZFW venue will have a new look, with an outside marquee showroom, The Tent delivering a smaller and more intimate environment for up to 400 guests. The capacity of the main showroom The Runway will also be adaptable, catering for either 500 or 800 guests, responding effectively to designers’ changing needs.

Laurent-Perrier Champagne Lounge is taking over level 2, which has one of the best views of Auckland City, opening up even more hosting space on level 1 for groups enjoying pre-show hostings.

With so much going on, NZFW will have plenty of announcements to make in the following weeks and the team is looking forward to the best event yet.
