Something Magical comes to Capital E ..
In Capital E you’ll find books upon shelves,
Filled with stories about animals, kings and elves.
One storyteller will read a tale or two,
With the help of your little one’s to help see it through.
Or if crafts is something you like to do,
Join us to create costumes and props too!
Capital E is hosting a series of new and free craft & story sessions for children aged 3-5 years every Thursday in June called Something Magical. Beginning on the 3rd June
at 10am at Capital E Central on Queens Wharf, children will come along ready to make crafts on Wednesday for Thursday’s
story sessions
Each week hosts a new theme extracted from stories located in Capital E’s Reading Corner. A story teller will come to
read one-two books to children and get them to help tell the story by encouraging them to make each story’s environment,
characters and sound effects.
Capital E’s Events Coordinator Karen Carey says, “This new programme is an ideal way for parents/caregivers to entertain
children during the Wellington winter. Children will stay active and keep warm inside Capital E’s free indoor
playground. We also can’t wait for children to use their imaginations to help tell the stories with our story teller.”
The first week kicks off with a royal theme. To celebrate the Queens birthday in June, Capital E have picked a few
stories including The King and the Sea by Heinz Janisch & Wolf Erlbruch and I am the King by Leo Timmers. Children will come dressed as a prince, princess or even a castle!
Something Magical is free entry and doesn’t require bookings. The new interactive craft & story sessions start on Wednesday 3 June at 10am-10.30am.
