Waitakere Home & Garden Show Complements Housing Boom
The Auckland housing market is humming and it seems that if locals aren’t building, they are renovating. This year’s Waitakere Home & Garden Show has all that is needed for homeowners doing either and for three days from 15-17 May, it will showcase the latest ideas and products from over 130 exhibitors passionate about home improvement.
From Friday through to Sunday, The Trusts Arena will be the ‘go to’ place for fantastic show-only specials and the hottest innovations on the home front. Show organiser, Daniel Joll, says “We’re delighted to say that this year we have the most extensive selection of kitchens ever at Waitakere. We have a fantastic line-up of landscaping, solar and alternative energy experts as well, but there will also be bathrooms, builders, furniture, bedding, heating, plants and everything in between.”
Niue Tourism is offering a tropical holiday for two as the show prize. This includes flights and accommodation to Niue Island for seven days staying at the Scenic Matavai Resort, plus transfers, an orientation tour and breakfast each morning. Visitors need only provide their contact details on arrival to enter. The winner will be drawn at the end of the Show and announced on The Breeze, the following Tuesday.
The Waitakere Art & Sculpture Competition has attracted entries from top local artists, including renowned wood carver, Mark Jones, whose work has been displayed throughout England. The competition will feature paintings, sculptures, pottery, woodwork and outdoor art – all of which will be for sale.
A series of free daily seminars will provide expert tips for show visitors on building, kitchen design and choosing colour. The Trusts Arena will be packed full of ideas and information, where a host of home improvement products and services are all under the one roof and there is free parking.
