Ben ‘Tito’ Caldwell has always wanted to make his living from playing sport.
He was going to be the first multiple international that represented New Zealand at rugby, league, cricket, football,
boxing and any other sport he was delusional enough to believe he could have succeeded at.
Things didn’t quite turn out how he had planned. But he still dreams of pulling on a silver fern that isn’t on a replica
jersey and representing his nation at a sport. One day, maybe?
A regular on the Wellington comedy scene and winner of the 2013 New Zealand International Comedy Festival ‘Spirit of the
Festival’ Award, Tito will be tackling his obsession with all things sport. He examines the effect that sport success
and failure has had on New Zealand and his own life. His stupidly competitive nature, tales of athletic glory and
infamy, getting fit, going to the gym and why he identifies himself as a cunning underdog are all covered in this show.
Tito’s storytelling is insightful, friendly and entertaining. He’s not afraid of being the butt of his own joke and
people shouldn’t be surprised at how personal his material gets.
