In Their Own Words - Readings from World War One
In Their Own Words - Readings from World War One
The
Depot Artspace has two exhibitions marking one hundred years
since Gallipoli: Lest We Forget the 500 Cook Island
Soldiers, and The Lost Men of Devonport.
Against this backdrop, the Michael King Writers' Centre has asked some leading locals and writers to read the words of New Zealanders who experienced war at first hand. Join us at The Depot over a glass of wine to listen to the words and thoughts of New Zealanders who experienced the Great War. Readers will include Michael King Writers' Centre resident Roger Horrocks, social historian Dave Veart, former Poet Laureate Michele Leggott, Michael King's brother Terry King, and Devonport residents who have family stories and letters.
