New Zealand New Zealand Comedy Trust presents
2
Degrees Comedy Convoy

Touring to 10 hotspots from 12 – 23 May

Travelling around New Zealand, as part of the 2015 NZ International Comedy Festival in cahoots with Old Mout Cider, the 2degrees Comedy Convoy pulls in to town with a hilarious selection of comedians from across the world and right here in the pearl of the Pacific. For a brilliant two-hours of stand-up chock-full of laughs and great stories; suitable for you, your mates, your family, your work buddies. It’s even a good idea for a Tinder date.

Steve Wrigley (7 Days) is back from the US to host an epic night of laughs in your town. His high-energy, fun-loving style will have you on your seats in anticipation of what will happen next.

Showing our international guests the local sights will be Rose Matafeo (Jono and Ben), and last year’s Billy T Award Winner Guy Montgomery (Best Bits). Joining the locals to entertain you is Nish Kumar from the UK. Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstancesDes Bishop is no longer able to do the tour, but will he be replaced by the fantastic Australian stand-up Justin Hamilton.

Rose Matafeo: 15-year olds don’t usually win comedy awards, but Rose Matafeo is exceptional. Six years on, the It-girl of New Zealand comedy has a legion of fans thanks to her quirky and original style, and has a Billy T Award to boot. You’ll have also seen her starring in TV3’s Jono and Ben & on 7 Days.

Justin Hamilton: Australian Justin Hamilton’s style of stand-up is “easygoing, conversational and he is genuinely funny” and “his jokes are intelligent, witty and very entertaining… Absolute stand out.” (Adelaide Advertiser). It turns out he’s also a massive cricket fan; having done a cricket series for BBC Radio with John Oliver, Frank Skinner and Andy Zaltzman.

Nish Kumar: British Stand-up Nish Kumar is described by The Guardian as “A highly polished, subtly innovative stand-up… a talent worth catching up with”, and by Chortle as a “…combination of book smarts, righteous passion and sardonic wit, Nish Kumar is the Asian answer to John Oliver”. This acclaimed comedian will have you laughing & thinking at the same time.

Guy Montgomery: Winner of the 2014 Billy T Award, Guy Montgomery, will have you in stitches with his handling of language and his absurd free-flow style. Gather & Hunt says“He’s stupendous, he’s a masterpiece”, and we’re inclined to agree with them. “Made me laugh so hard beer shot out my nose” – Dominion Post
