Bondi Hipsters comedians Nick Boshier and Christian Van Vuuren are set to rock New Zealand’s world in the Kiwi premiere of their hilarious new series Soul Mates, airing tonight @ 8.50pm onComedy Central, SKY Channel 015.
Featuring the same humour that made Boshier famous in New Zealand for his Beached Az and Trent From Punchy YouTube videos, Soul Mates is a spinoff of the Bondi Hipsters web-series, following the two best friends as they are continually drawn together across the course of past, present and future human history, as told through laugh-out-loud comedy sketches.
“Aussies really enjoyed the show, and I think that Kiwis will, too. Aussies and Kiwis have very similar sensibilities. In fact the only difference between Aussies and Kiwis, is that Aussies are better looking... A lot better looking,” joked Christian Van Vuuren.
“I remember going to Rotorua as a 16-year-old rugby player, and I remember packing down in a scrum against Kiwis that had thighs like the base of an old growth fig, beards like a young Gandalf, and a stare that made my gums bleed... The thrashing I received in that game set me up for very humble expectations when doing new things in New Zealand,” added Nick Boshier. “Given the exceptional comedic talent New Zealand has produced over the years, I feel equally as intimidated, but dramatically less life threatened, as that day on that green field in Rotorua.”
