Statement Re Resignation of Scott Pothan From Whangarei Art Museum
After nineteen years of service, the founding director of the Whangarei Art Museum, Scott Pothan, has today announced his resignation. Since it’s formation in 1996 WAM has become firmly established as one of the leading regional Art Museums in New Zealand. Scott’s contribution to WAM and his extensive work with the visual arts in Whangarei and Northland is well known.
“After nearly twenty years with one organisation I feel it is time for new challenges. I am very proud of what I and the team at WAM have achieved and I know the Museum will continue to grow” said Scott today.
The Trustees of the Whangarei Art Museum Trust acknowledged the significant contribution Scott has made to Whangarei Art Museum and the visual art’s sector in Whangarei, Northland and New Zealand in his nearly twenty years as Director.
Grant Faber, Chairman of the WAM Trust Board said, “Scott’s energy, networks and knowledge have brought many new and dynamic experiences to Whangarei and the Northland community during his time at WAM. We wish him the best in his future endeavours”
