95bFM Announce Breakfast Hosts
Max Oldfield and Vince Wynn have been appointed the new hosts for the 95bFM Breakfast Show
Oldfield, Wednesday Drive host, and Wynn, a former bFM Breakfast Producer, have not worked together before but are enthusiastic about the arrangement. "When I was just doing drive I had no reason to get out of bed before midday. I'm looking forward to becoming a contributing member of society again.” says Max.
His co-host, Vince Wynn says it's really exciting to have the opportunity to add another chapter to the bFM breakfast story. “I've also been looking to for an excuse to completely kill my evening social life, so the appointment is a real blessing", he adds.
Soon-to-start
General Manager Hugh Sundae agrees. “I tried several
cool-Dad jokes on them and they looked at me like I was an
idiot, so that’s probably good news for
listeners.”
bFM Programme Director Pennie Black says
that listeners can look forward to challenging radio with
plenty of new features and a broad political canvas with
Wynn and Oldfield.
The bFM Breakfast Show with Max and Vince - broadcasting live from 6am Monday March 23.
About 95bFM
In 1969, Radio Bosom
was born as a student's capping stunt, broadcasting
illegally from a boat in the Waitemata Harbour. Over the
next few decades the Bosom morphed into the mighty 95bFM,
the longest-standing independent radio station in New
Zealand. The station is run by a full time core crew of 12
staff, backed up by numerous on-air DJ’s and
volunteers.
95bFM is a hub for dedicated and passionate
people from a wide range of musical genres and political
persuasions. This makes for an electric atmosphere of
independent news, views and Auckland’s most vibrant
musical selection.
We think that radio is better when
it's free from commercial pressures, and that it should be
challenging without being inaccessible.
Maximilian Oldfield, 24, Central
Auckland.
After graduating a Bachelor of
Communication Studies in 2010, Max was scooped up by bFM as
a receptionist before rapidly being ushered into the role of
programming assistant and traffic manager. He has been the
host of WednesdayDrive since February 2011. In 2013 Max took
up a part time position at VICE NZ as events coordinator and
marketing and sales assistant, as well as management roles
for bFM favourites @peace, Louie Knuxx and Supervillains.
Vince Wynn, 24, New Lynn born and
raised.
Vince began hanging out at bFM in 2007
as a teenager, and an intense love affair with the station
soon developed. He volunteered as a producer and then became
the producer for a range of different Mikey Havoc programmes
on b. After dabbling in real estate and a bunch of
‘crappy, real life' jobs, Vince has been swayed back to
his one true love: independent
radio.
