“Shifting Gears” – The ride for Parkinson’s continues.
1 Ducati bike, 4000+Kms to ride, awareness and money to raise and 1 hell of a guy!
John Stockwell is riding a Ducati throughout New Zealand to raise money, awareness and the spirits of those also living with Parkinson’s.
John is originally from New Plymouth and has already completed “Ride for Parkinson’s” in Australia raising over $30,000.
John has Parkinson’s and decided to ride to raise money for Parkinson's as he noticed the condition affecting his gear-changing foot and realised he had no time to lose, so he embarked on his amazing quest. John set his sights on a NZ tour during March and April to generate awareness and donations for Parkinson’s New Zealand in 2015. His fundraiseonline page has already had over $1000 donated.
Grant Woolford from Cyclespot Group in Takapuna has generously donated John the use of a Ducati hypermotard for the ride.
“We are really happy to give John a Ducati while he rides around New Zealand to undraise for Parkinson’s. He has an inspirational story and we hope everyone who can gets on board to support him and Parkinson’s” says Grant.
John has meetings with Parkinson’s branches and division, breakfast clubs and motorcycle groups across New Zealand. You can keep up with his schedule and find the link to his GPS tracker on Parkinson’s New Zealand’s Facebook page and
website.
Parkinson's New Zealand changes people’s lives by providing education, information and support to anyone living with Parkinsonism conditions, their caregivers, friends, families and health professionals.
