Industries Ltd is pleased to announce its support of the Lowie Foundation, a recently established organisation focused on supporting young New Zealanders by using sport to re-engage them into furthering their education.

This ground-breaking mission is the dream-child of renowned rugby league coach, Graham Lowe, and is being delivered in partnership with tertiary education provider, NorthTec. While it is planned that this programme will be national, it is initially being rolled out in Whangarei and Kaitaia in 2015. The programme, for 16 – 19 year olds, will enable students to engage in sport and, at the same time, get back into education. It is primarily aimed at those students who have fallen through the cracks.

Autex is a long-standing supporter of the local community, sponsoring a range of social, charitable and sporting organisations. “Though these groups play an incredibly important role in our community, they are largely dependent on donations and corporate sponsorship for survival. Our support of these organisations helps ensure the continuation of their great work and allows us to give something back to the community we’re so proud to be part of,” said Autex Managing Director, Rob Croot.

“Our commitment to Lowie Foundation sits comfortably with our culture and heritage, and our company values.

Education is incredibly important and getting kids back into learning can only be good for our whole community.

Lowie’s 12 Principles programme that is aimed at unlocking kids’ minds and searching for what they really stand for is a refreshing and fantastically positive approach and we’re proud to be supporting Graham and the NorthTec team.”

Graham Lowe said that he was extremely pleased to have Autex as a founding sponsor of the Lowie Foundation.

“Autex has demonstrated a commitment to what the Lowie Foundation stands for,” he said. “It is great to have business backing our work and sharing our vision. Autex is leading the way in this area and I thank them for the support that they have provided.”
