Māori Television Publishes Te Iti Kahurangi Haka
Māori Television has this afternoon published the haka performance by Te Iti Kahurangi as part of its online coverage of Te Matatini 2015.
Earlier today, Māori Television staff discussed the haka at a staff hui resulting in a collective decision to upload the haka as part of Te Iti Kahurangi’s final online package.
“We’ve taken on board the feedback from staff and our audience and the message was clear that the haka should be available for viewing and we have done just that,” says Māori Television Chief Executive Paora Maxwell.
“We have been proud and humbled to be associated with Te Matatini this year and, particularly, being able to bring the Festival to one million viewers."
“We remain committed to bringing kapahaka to the widest possible audience,” says Mr Maxwell.
