Robertson’s Trio in Golden Form

Robertson’s Trio in Golden Form

Olivia Robertson made her trip from the South Island well worth it, picking up wins and placings in several top classes at the Taranaki Equestrian Jumping Premier Show today.

The 20-year-old from Rangiora won the Excel Premier League aboard Ngahiwi Cisco and the Canterbury Equestrian Young Rider on DHS Centiki, on whom she was also second in the (non series) Horse Grand Prix, and fourth on Cisco in the same class, and first equal in the East Coast Performance Horses Five Year Old Series on Dartanian.

Just five started the two round Premier League, with Robertson the only double clear over the Gary Sinclair (Levin) designed course.

The ESNZ Pony Grand Prix was a cracker, with four of the 11 starters coming back for the jump-off. Our first was another South Islander, Molly Buist-Brown (Christchurch) and Miss Mae West. They flew round in what the spectators thought had to be an unbeatable time, stopping the clock at 38.4 seconds.

But out next was the pocket rocket Briar Burnett-Grant (Taupo) and Pioneer Jade, who took some excellent lines to finish double clear in 36.79. Local favourite Parys Marshall (Inglewood) and Spot U Later did their best, but their lovely clear was just shy, in a time of 37.18.

Also starring today was Georgia Massie (Dannevirke) who won the Goldengrove Stud Seven Year Old Series on Larinium and the Telford Junior Rider on Double J Cloud Nine.

The two day show, held at the Egmont A and P Showgrounds, attracted around 250 horses from all over the country.
