Slash meets Tāne the Tuatara
Wellington, NZ – Rock and Roll superstar and former Guns 'n' Roses guitarist Slash visited Zealandia Ecosamctuary today along with collaborating band Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.
Zealandia Rangers Darren Van Hoof and Kerry Donovan-Brown led the VIP tour, bringing out resident tuatara Tāne and Tuahine.
“They loved the tuatara, and the Wellington green geckos,” said Van Hoof. “Slash was obviously pretty experienced with holding reptiles, he seemed to know what to do.”
“It didn’t seem like they get a lot of chances to experience local attractions while on tour,” said Donovan-Brown, “they seemed really happy to be out in nature and checking out the native wildlife.”
Slash is well known worldwide as a guitar icon, but he's also very interested in wildlife, particularly reptiles.
