Happy early Coast to Coast winner
10 February 2015
Winning the Giant Road bike as a spot prize leading up to the Coast to Coast was great surprise for Ian Fraser from Christchurch, and it has him even more excited about the event this weekend.
"There is a real buzz around the event this year with the new categories opening the event up to more people and the new course creating lots of interest," he said when receiving his bike from Giant and Torpedo7's local store Manager Graeme Allen today.
Ian is competing as part of mixed corporate team of three for AECOM and this year will only be doing the paddle, but says that won’t stop him getting out into the Port Hills on the new bike 'as soon as possible.'
He says he spent a bit of time over the weekend arranging the garage so as to be able to hang the latest addition to the families’ bike collection. "There's no chance of getting a car in that garage now," he said laughing.
Ian wanted to thanks Giant, Torpedo 7 and the Speight's Coast to Coast for such a great spot prize. "I am rapt and can’t wait to take it for a spin.
Racing starts in the two day event on Friday the 13th at 7am with the One Day World Championship Longest Day event starting the following day at 6am.
