Giltrap Nissan aming rights sponsor of Rukutai Shield

Giltrap Nissan become naming rights sponsor of Rukutai Shield

For immediate release

The Auckland Rugby League has today announced a new partnership with Giltrap Nissan, which will see the company become naming rights sponsors of the Rukutai Shield for the next three seasons.

As part of the agreement the ARL will be provided with two brand new Nissan Navara twin cab trucks from the Giltrap Nissan range, which will be used by the Football Development Department.

“The ARL are very proud to align ourselves with a premium brand in the Giltrap Nissan company,” said ARL sponsorship manager Troy Hardy.

“You will see the new vehicles on show at all of the ARL’s school tournaments throughout the year, as well as selected games of the Appliance Shed Fox Memorial and SAS Sharman Cup seasons.”

The Shield carries the name of James Rukutai, the first representative of Maori race on the Auckland Rugby League Control Board.

For the last 74 years it has been awarded to the Appliance Shed Fox Memorial Premiership minor premiers each season.

“For years the Giltrap Group have helped to sponsor, or aid in the development of future New Zealand sportsmen,” a spokesperson from the Giltrap Group said.

“Whether it’s motor racing in the streets of Monaco or rugby league in our own backyard, we all strive for excellence.”

Giltrap Nissan will get their first taste of Auckland league action on February 19, when they host the official launch of the Sportsafe ARL Coastal Classic Nines tournament at their Newmarket headquarters.

The inaugural Sportsafe ARL Coastal Classic Nines tournament will be held in Whitianga on February 27-28.
