Producers of
BUDDY – THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY today
announce that the star of the show will come direct from
playing the role in the United Kingdom.
Musical theatre veteran Glen Jospeh has just completed a 48-week tour of the production and will begin a 21-venue tour of New Zealand starting next month.
Glen's theatre credits also include Buddy on the West End, playing Eric in Dreamboats & Petticoats (West End & UK Tour), Curly in Oklahoma! (Yvonne Arnaud, Guildford) and Chuck in Footloose! (Gordon Craig, Stevenage). As a singer/songwriter, Glen has toured the UK and America, including shows in Memphis, Nashville and New Orleans in 2012, and has supported a number of notable recording artists, most recently three time Grammy Award nominee Leona Lewis. Outside of music, Glen appeared on WWE Legend Mick Foley’s UK Tour.
After spending time in Texas interviewing Buddy’s widow Maria Elena Holly, Glen has been asked to recreate Buddy Holly internationally. He will be joined on stage by 16 actors and musicians.
"Skillfully exposing Buddy’s conflicting personality, at once naive and driven, geeky and charismatic, and perfectly imitating his unique performance style, Joseph even had that famous ‘hiccough’ down to a tee," says The Journal reviewer … "perhaps the closest today’s audience can get to the real Buddy Holly and the Crickets."
Experience the drama, passion and excitement as this cast of phenomenally talented actors and musicians tell Buddy Holly’s story, from his meteoric rise to fame, to his final legendary performance at The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa.
Tickets to the most successful rock ‘n’ roll show of all time are selling fast so fans are urged to move quickly to avoid disappointment. Booking details, dates and venues below.
Featuring two terrific hours of the greatest songs ever written, including That’ll Be The Day, Oh Boy, Rave On, La Bamba, Chantilly Lace, Johnny B. Goode, Raining In My Heart, Everyday, Shout and many many more, this show is just Peggy Sue-perb!
